November 4

Today has been draining for our families. Wendy's surgery was originally scheduled for 3:00PM, but she was not moved to surgery until after 5:00. She is in surgery as I write this news spot. The doctors are installing a 'halo' to hold her neck and cervical vertebrae immobile. This 'halo' will be worn for 12 weeks. The doctors also plan to put permanent pins in her thorasic vertebrae at this time. We are grateful for your prayers for the medical team.

Troy is progressing at Edwin Shaw. He is relearning some skills, strengthening his back muscles and taking a daily walk with limited assistance. He is looking forward to a visit with his children sometime this week end. Please pray for this first meeting since the accident. The Lord is so good and is showing us His care on a daily basis.

We truly are thinking the Lord for what He has already done through this accident. The old hymn, "The Comforter Has Come" has been a great blessing for us. We cling to the promise that God is too good to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake.

  1. Dear Art and Nancy, I am thanking Our Lord for your strength, as I am sure you are only depending on Him for each minute. Please know that Chuck and I are praying and holding up all of you as you manage through this time of need. I'll never forget the lesson on the fiery darts of Satan, and thankful you taught that, Art. Dear Nancy, being strong for these children has to be a difficult time, and I pray for extra strength when you think you just can't do anymore. We love you and are thankful for you. Barb and Chuck

  2. Thank you for the update. Troy & Wendy and each of you are always on my mind. We continue to pray for you daily. Joe had a wonderful visit with Troy yesterday while Troy was having dinner. Joe was excited that Troy knew most of the answers to the questions he was asking.Troy even remembered our children's names. The power of prayer is amazing!!!We will be praying that all goes well this weekend when Troy visits with Peyton & Laurysa. I think it will do them all good to see each other. Your Faith is keeping you going...stay strong. God Bless all of you!
