Monday November 9th

Wendy went through the surgery well. We are waiting for the doctors to evaluate the next steps. We are hoping later this week she will see the kids and Troy will possibly be able to visit her for a short visit.
The kids visited Troy Saturday and it went very well. Troy was so excited to see the kids and it was heartwarming to see them share some time together. It was a good experience for all of us.

Thank you for the continued prayer and support , we are so grateful for all of you.

November 4

Today has been draining for our families. Wendy's surgery was originally scheduled for 3:00PM, but she was not moved to surgery until after 5:00. She is in surgery as I write this news spot. The doctors are installing a 'halo' to hold her neck and cervical vertebrae immobile. This 'halo' will be worn for 12 weeks. The doctors also plan to put permanent pins in her thorasic vertebrae at this time. We are grateful for your prayers for the medical team.

Troy is progressing at Edwin Shaw. He is relearning some skills, strengthening his back muscles and taking a daily walk with limited assistance. He is looking forward to a visit with his children sometime this week end. Please pray for this first meeting since the accident. The Lord is so good and is showing us His care on a daily basis.

We truly are thinking the Lord for what He has already done through this accident. The old hymn, "The Comforter Has Come" has been a great blessing for us. We cling to the promise that God is too good to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake.

Monday November 2 Updates

It has been 12 long days and much has happened . We have met some amazing people the past 2 weeks that have crossed our paths from all over the area. Nurses, doctors, firefighters, other families in the Intensive Care unit, co- workers, friends, family, people in the community, our church family. You have lifted us up and carried us through this nightmare, you are a blessing, thank you.

Update on Wendy:

She is alert. We are hoping that she will finally have surgery sometime this week. They inserted the filters in her legs last Thursday and she went through that with flying colors. Continue to lift her up in prayer that the remaining surgeries will go as well.

Update on Troy:

Troy has been moved to Edwin Shaw. They have him scheduled with full days of therapy to regain, his strength and memory. We are hopeful that he will have a speedy recovery over the next several weeks. We should know more later this week. Right now they want him to take it slow without too much stimulation.

Thursday Oct 29th 2009

We have been so blessed by the out pouring of love for our family; we can't begin to express our appreciation, You are an amazing bunch.

Updates on Wendy

She is resting and the doctors are planning on doing the filters for her legs hopefully today. The remaining procedures will be scheduled when the doctors feel it the right time. Wendy needs her rest and only the immediate family is visiting at the scheduled time right now. We thank you for lifting her and our family up in prayer, we feel God's hand on us minute by minute and and we can 't begin to tell you how much that means to all of us.

Updates on Troy

Troy is awake and alert but very restless. Because of the brain trauma his memory is very fuzzy, right now he comes in and out as far knowing us and any personal details. The doctors say that it will be a slow process for him to regain everything. As it stands now, he may be moved soon to another location to begin rehab. Your continued prayers and support are so appreciated as he works through regaining his memory and begins healing so he can return home to the kids and be strong for when Wendy is able to return home.

We want to thank the Stow & Tallmadge Firemen & Women and their families- What a wonderful group of men & women you are. We are so proud to have you walk beside us in this difficult time.

Friends,

I cannot express our heartfelt thanks for all the prayer and support you have bestowed on our family. We have their rooms decorated with wonderful posters of love and encouragement that the kids and cousins all made, it all helps us prepare for the day we can celebrate their recovery.

Sandy and Family
Dear Friends,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your loving support and prayers as we go through this God ordained time. Your kindnesses, cards, food and prayers are appreciated more than I could ever say. Through God's mercy Wendy and Troy are making tiny steps. Please continue to pray for them, their children, Peyton (age 10) and Laurysa (age 8), the medical staff and the family. This site will be updated as we are able, hopefully daily. Love to you, Art and Nancy
